Project Detail the leader house

The Pathology Laboratory, Darlington Memorial Hospital

Installation £0.45m

Completion December 2007

This was a real gem. Providing services support to the Trust (Co Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust) in a significantly reduced timescale. We proceeded from budget cost to tender completion in just five weeks for a very complex and sensitive project.

Whilst maintaining system critical supplies and pre adjacent operational pathology laboratory, we undertook detailed design and site duties to provide brand new facilities. This included new services and systems to HTM code with very specific environmental criteria.

Parsec Consulting Engineers used the latest software design tools to ensure optimum comfort levels, and provide high efficiency colour correction lighting with high uniformity and low energy use.

The main difficulty with this project was the lack of detailed ‘as installed’ drawings from the original 1970 construction.

We thoroughly enjoyed the technical content and attention to detail of this project and look forward to our next, which I think is the Radio-Pharmacy suite, again with Elder Lester Mcgregor Architects. Watch this space.
