We are moving! Due to continued expansion and work load commitments we are moving from our current office in to new and much larger prestigious premises. Ashburn House is located on Grange Road in Darlington and will support our business needs for the next five years at least.

Low Carbon Energy Assessor

We are very pleased that Shaun has acquired full “Low Carbon Energy Assessor” (LCEA) with EPC Level 3 and EPC Level 4; which now enables Parsec to provide support from inception to handover and beyond for all your property energy requirements.

Our accreditation with the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) allows full approved inclusion of BRE accredited carbon calculation and Energy Performance Certificates.

Shaun stated today “this is a milestone of achievement for Parsec and all the hard work and effort to achieve the same has paid off. We can now concentrate on our efforts to ensure the best service to all our clients.”

ISO 9001 Quality Management System

The finishing touches are now been prepared for the new Parsec Consulting Engineers QMS system.

A great deal of work and effort has been made by the staff in the office and we are now very close to completing this very important exercise. This will allow quality control to be improved for all our projects from beginning to end and will allow us to monitor client satisfaction and profitability.

The MD was quoted “this is a massive achievement for the company and the staff here and we must congratulate ourselves. It has been a massive task for all concerned but speaks volumes for the immeasurable support and patience of Ted Sherlock (KIS Consulting) our Management Consultant, each and every member of staff and the management team. It will provide a immense boost to our prestige but will also add credit for our diligence and drive in reducing energy use. An integral and important Part of our QMS systems requires a further reduction in carbon emissions over and above the current Building Regulations for domestic and commercial premises”.

BREEAM Offices

We are now fully prepared to meet the tough demands involving sustainable offices in the commercial sector using the internationally acclaimed BREEAM Offices. Allowing us to provide technical support for our clients in this complex area. Parsec are committed to providing the best service for clients and this allows us to provide practical and passive solutions for these buildings. Fuel costs will continue to rise well into the foreseeable future and it is vital that clients and tenants alike are prepared to mitigate energy risks to reduce increasing overheads. Our in house HEVACOMP energy simulation software allows the complete analysis of all the building elements at preconception and feasibility stage. Reducing the risk of “bolt on” renewables to the completed building.

We are also preparing training requirements for our staff for the new BREEAM International and BREEAM Schools.

Code for Sustainable Homes

We are now fast fully accredited with BRE Global for this new code.

The MD has completed all the code coursework, examinations and outline scheme requirements and looks forward to progressing into real enquiries.

We look forward to receiving our first commission in this sector during the course of this year and will keep this website updated to new progress.

This new code allows us to progress into new territory that involves the complete assessment of all elements in the design of sustainable homes. This combined with our extensive approach to renewables and grade A serviced buildings design means that we can contribute effectively to erecting sustainable buildings for the next 50 years.

Green buildings "worth a premium"

Commercial properties in the US which achieve high energy efficiency ratings are selling for almost a third more than other properties and the UK commercial property market is likely to follow, a new report from NB Environment has found.

A recent US study revealed that properties that had achieved the US Energy Star rating sold for 27 per cent more per sq ft than buildings that had failed to achieve the rating.

And occupancy rates of the energy efficient buildings were 92 per cent compared to the average of 87 per cent for less efficient buildings.

Jonathan Lovejoy, director of NB Environment says that this is good news for energy performance certificates, which "are going to influence a large number of corporate and public sector occupiers.

When professional services companies such as law firms and accountancy firms take new space, they use it as an opportunity to impress all of their existing employees the US experience suggests that they will be willing to pay for that privilege.

CIBSE Low Carbon Consultants

Parsec Consulting Engineers have successfully completed the CIBSE Low Carbon Consultants course and examination and have been appointed to the register of Low Carbon Consultants. The CIBSE managed framework for LCC follows the Government introduction of “Energy Performance of Buildings Directive” (EPBD).

The Managing Director Mr. Shaun Ackerley has been quoted today to be very pleased with this status as it ensures a complete holistic approach to the recent BRE accreditation as competent person for CO2 calculations.

The practice can now effectively offer unbiased advice on the legal requirements to AD Part L and also ensure best practice to reduce carbon footprint. Mr. Shaun Ackerley CEng is now an approved Carbon Consultant and registered with the CIBSE.

BRE competent persons

Parsec Consulting Engineers announce their new status as BRE competent persons to calculate CO2 in accordance with the Government National Calculation Method (NCM). This enables Parsec Consulting Engineers to submit calculations in the approved manner for acceptance by Building Control.

Using the Hevamcomp suite of programs we can submit SBem calculations in the approved format and actively work alongside the client to reduce carbon emissions. Mr. Shaun Ackerley CEng is now an approved and competent person in the use of Hevacomp to provide NCM SBem calculations and CO2 emmissions.
